What I Love About Being a Sacred Birth Worker

There are a million reasons I LOVE this Sacred & Ancient profession.

And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

In this blog post I will share with you why I love it and also give you glimpse into the magic of birth through the birth photos of 4 of my beautiful clients births that I had the privilege and honor of attending, witnessing and holding space for.  

Witnessing Miracles Every Day

Few people can say they witness miracles for a living.

As a birth worker, I get to stand in the presence of life itself unfolding, watching a mother step into her power, a baby take their first breath, and a family be forever changed.

No two births are the same, yet every single one carries this inexplicable magic—a moment so profound it imprints itself on everyone present.

To be invited into this moment is nothing short of a gift, one that I will never take for granted.

The Magic of the Birth Space

There is an energy in the birth space that is unlike anything else.

It is tangible, timeless, and divine.

The veil between worlds are thin.

I have witnessed women surrender to something primal, something beyond themselves, as they bring life earth side.

I have stood in rooms so charged with intensity, power, and love that time itself seems to pause.

There are no words to fully describe the feeling of being in that space.

You simply have to experience it.

And once you do, you are never the same again.

The Deep Honor of Being Invited In

Birth is one of the most intimate, life-altering moments in a person’s life.

It is the moment they meet their baby for the first time, the moment they step into parenthood, the moment their life is forever changed.

And they choose me to be there.

To be trusted to hold space for such a sacred moment is something I will never take lightly.

It is a privilege, an honor, and a responsibility that I carry with deep gratitude.

Because birth is not just about the baby being born.

It is about the mother, the family, the transformation that takes place on every level.

And as a sacred birth worker, I get to walk alongside them through that journey.

Protecting the Sacred Ceremony of Birth

Birth is not a medical event. It is a ceremony, a rite of passage, an initiation into motherhood that has been honored for centuries.

And yet, in many places, this ceremony has been disrupted.

Women are rushed, their choices disregarded, their power taken away.

Birth is treated as something to be managed rather than something to be respected, honored, and witnessed.

As a birth worker, I stand as a protector of this sacred experience.

I ensure that women feel safe, supported, and seen in their choices.

I remind them of their own innate power. I advocate for their autonomy, their voice, their intuition.

Because when a mother is supported in birth, the ripple effect extends far beyond that moment.

It shapes how she sees herself, how she bonds with her baby, and how she carries that strength into the rest of her life.

It ultimately effects her family, community and humanity as a whole. 

Birth work is that important.

The Butterflies Never Fade

No matter how many births I attend, the feeling never gets old.

Every time my phone rings with the words "It’s time" my heart leaps.

It is the most exciting call in the world—a call to witness transformation, to step into the unknown, to hold space for a woman as she walks through the fire and emerges on the other side and to witness new life enter the earth.

Wow.

I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

Every birth is different.

Every experience teaches me something new.

And I will never lose the sense of awe, reverence, and excitement that comes with every single one.

How Birth Work Has Transformed Me

This work has changed me in ways I never expected.

It has deepened my spirituality, showing me the sacredness in all things.

It has expanded my love and reverence for women, for their strength, their wisdom, their innate knowing.

It has given me a sense of purpose unlike anything else—knowing that the work I do matters, that it ripples out into families, communities, and generations to come.

I am so deeply grateful that birth work found me.

That I listened to the call.

That I rearranged my entire life to step onto this path without hesitation.

Because I cannot imagine my life without it.
