Honoring Motherhood & Celebrating Mothers

As we approach Mother's Day, I want to take a moment to celebrate and honor all of the incredible mothers out there.

Whether you are a new mama, a seasoned mama, a step-mama, a fur mama, or simply have a motherly heart and spirit, know that you are deeply valued and appreciated and I'm grateful you're a part of my online community.

The origins of Mother's Day can be traced back to ancient civilizations that honored motherhood and the female aspect of creation.

The ancient Greeks and Romans used to celebrate mothers as life givers and had several days and festivals in honor of the mother of their gods and goddesses.

The early Christians celebrated a similar festival on the fourth Sunday of Lent to honor the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus.

In modern times, Mother's Day has become a global celebration of mothers, with most countries celebrating it during the month of May.

We must never underestimate the value and importance of mothers.

Mothers are the foundation of families, the backbone of communities, and the nurturers of society.

From birth to adulthood, mothers provide unconditional love, support, guidance, and wisdom to their children.

Throughout herstory, matriarchal societies have existed in which women were revered for their maternal roles and the sacred power of creation.

In ancient times of nature religions, the worship of the goddess and the celebration of the feminine were central to daily life.

It's time to reclaim this in our daily lives.

To value the feminine, the life giver & the nurturer.

The transition from maiden to mother is a powerful rite of passage that deserves to be honored and celebrated.

With every birth, a woman undergoes a transformation that shifts her identity and her whole being.

Embracing and honoring this transformation is essential for a woman's well-being and the well-being of her family.

In our modern society however this is not always recognized, honored and celebrated as it should.

I know that every mama deserves support, encouragement, and guidance on their journey through the portal of birth and in motherhood.

May this Mother's Day be a time of gratitude for and celebration of You and all of the amazing mothers out there.
